UCHS Color Guard
Competition Season
Winter Guard spends 20 to 25 hours a week practicing on a 50 by 70 foot area spinning a 3.5 pound rifle, sabre or a 6 foot flag. It demands precision, rhythm, coordination, performance, strength and balance. More than work and intense competition, it is a close bond between a group of young people that is unbreakable. It's a built in "fan" club who will always encourage and support each other, win or lose, who will accept you for who you are. This group is called the UC Winter Guard. This year's guard jumped up 2 divisions in difficulty for winter competition. They performed with heart and conviction. Their performances were very well received and they placed second in Riverside. It was a season of change, challenge and one to be extremely proud of!
Go WINTER GUARD!!

Marching Season
Congratulations on a great fall season. The Color Guard was led by Captain Ceejay Alcazar and Co-Lieutenants Harry Lo and Philip Pascual and the Marching Band was led by Drum Major Bryant Martin Fiesta and Assistant Drum Majors Erin Nicole Vedar and Elizabeth Raley. In the first field show at Scripps Ranch High School, both Marching Band and Color Guard won sweepstakes, first place over all the divisions. Eight other schools competed. In the second field show at Mira Mesa High School, the Color Guard won third place. In the last and largest competition, the Lester Oaks Field Show at King High School in Riverside, the Color Guard won first place again!
